One of the very best imports to British shores in the past couple of years has to be the Women’s Health magazine brand. I used to Avedapay over the odds for the American version (Clapham Junction Asda has a surprisingly international magazine selection) and have had a subscription pretty much since the UK version launched.

The past week, the WH team have been taking part in a yoga challenge in association with hair brand Aveda and I got to join them at Aveda’s flagship salon in Holborn for an early morning class.

StudioIf you’ve ever been in an Aveda salon, or tried any of their products, you’ll know how amazing it smells and the whole space had a gorgeous aroma. The upstairs of the salon is their training area and this had been cleared of hairdressing apparel (although the mirrors were still there which was helpful) and turned into a peaceful yoga studio, complete with candles, plants and cushions.

Ruth McNeil from Good Vibes studio took the class which was a lovely relaxing start to the day. Lots of nice slow stretches and floor work with a lovely long savasana at the end gently broken by Ruth chiming a small bell. Afterwards we were all given a goody bag with some great mini Aveda products (to make that signature scent last a bit longer), Sweaty Betty water bottle and head band and a fresh green juice from Roots and Bulbs. What an awesome experience on an otherwise unremarkable weekday – thanks Women’s Health!
